The 2025 municipal election will be held in Kananaskis on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Individuals wishing to run for the election must sign a Notice of Intent to run, and have this form sworn before a Commissioner of Oaths. This can be done at the Kananaskis Emergency Services Centre, but KID Administration should be contacted to arrange a time to have the form sworn.

Additionally, Form 4 – Nomination Paper and Candidate’s Acceptance must be signed by at least 5 electors eligible to vote in the ward, as well as be sworn before a Commissioner of Oaths and submitted to KID Administration on or before Monday, September 22 at 4:30 p.m.

Form 5 – Candidate Financial Information must also be completed, and it is recommended to have the Notice of Intent to Run, Form 4 and Form 5 all sworn and submitted at the same time.

It is important to note that for anyone who wishes to run, any campaign contributions (including one’s own) can only occur once Form 5 has been signed.
